Romero brings us another zombie flick in Land of the Dead

The George A. Romero's return to the genre that made him famous and adored by many fans fall little short. Recently, zombie movies have gained great popularity due to various successful films. This trend most likely allowed Romero to secure the go ahead for this installment in his zombie series.

The film does excellent job in action packed, bloody and gory, manner. And, the presence of social commentary is present as was in Romero's other works. Mixed in with the action and gore are commentary on human follies. It's also got a good amount of nostalgia for fans who watched the original Romero works.

The plot is pretty thin but it really does work well and this is a zombie movie in line with other Romero zombie flicks. Romero has again created something great on a pretty thin budget and makes it look pretty good with decent amount of special effects. The cast are all pretty decent, and the acting job is right on as well.

All in all I was little bit disappointed also because I had such high expectation. I like it that Romero is bringing in steady diet of zombie remakes. Hope it gets better with next one.
