Blu-ray movie review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Chris Columbus has done pretty good job on the first film. So, it is not surprising he has been asked to helm the second film in the franchise. The second film actually improves on the first film by being little darker and grittier if you can imagine children book or movie being dark or edgy. This makes for better flim for adults and children alike.

The plot and pace seems to better than the first one and executed better. The movie itself is over two hours but it does not drag in any part of the movie. The acting job by the main casts were spot on and nothing to complain about. The supporting roles were pretty good as well from top to bottom. The high production value is evident througout the film.

Like the first movie, chamber of secrets follows the book pretty closely. This does not mean scene for scene or dialogue to dialogue transfer. Instead, it hits the main plots and tone pretty well. No major plot or character alterations were done to the movie. Which is pretty smart because I'm sure millions fanboys and fangirls would of cried foul if there were major changes.

Overall, it's enjoyable film with great performances with great plot. It is not Oscar worthy stuff but most of the fans will enjoy the movie.
