Blu-ray movie review of Daredevil Director’s Cut

A boy loses his sights through accident but in return his sharper. Later, he loses his dad and through the pain he becomes the Daredevil. He becomes Daredevil and takes responsibility for his neighborhood. The director's cut also included brand new story thread which involves Matt defending an ex convict, Daunte Jackson, who has been falsely accused of murdering a prostitute. Through investigation he learns of the kingpin. This important story thread was completely left out of the theatrical version.

Directed by Mark Steven Johnson made an entertaining, familiar but dark super-hero movie based on comic book. Affleck is surprisingly effective as the tormented hero. This film is well cast including actors Jon Favreau, Joe Pantoliano, Leland Orser and Derrick O'Connor. The original theatrical version missed some character development, especially the lead villain played well by Duncan and the Daunte Jackson subplot was cut for PG-13 version. As well for the fight sequences and language was toned down for rating's sake. This version is much darker film with plenty of interesting scenes added back into the movie with rapper Coolio as an man accused of murder , Jude Ciccolella as a corrupted police detective and Kevin Spirtas as Prosecutor at the trail.

This is a whole new movie with better flow of plot. It packs more emotion as well as running time which is not a problem. Why they didn't release this version instead of the dreadful theatrical cut is beyond me. This version would have made received much better reviews as well as box office tickets.
