Blu-Ray disc movie review of Elf

Will Ferrel makes a rare PG comedy instead of his usual rated R college humor movies. As a comedy and holiday family film, it works. Ferrel has made a career out of making college humor movies like Old School and Step Brothers. Thismovie is aimed at holiday movie crowd looking for an easy going film without crude jokes.
The movie is about an elf named Buddy. Buddy is a human that has been raised by Santa's elves at North Pole. And, as he is not an elf, he invariablecauses some mishaps when he grows up. When Buddy was a baby, he accidentally crawled into Santa's bag when Santa was delivering toys to an orphanage. The father elf, played by Bob Newhart , raises Buddy. Buddy grows up believing that he is an elf. Buddy is told the truth about his origin and sets out to find his real father, JamesCaan, in New York City. The movie goes from there and there are some heartwarming moments and extremely funny scenes.
Will Ferrel is perfect as an overgrown elf. I don't think they could have found better elf. Maybe Vince Vaughn could have been as funny seeing as his buddy Jon Favreau directed this movie. Favreau has done well with few movies he has directed including Iron Man and Made. Zooey Deschanel offers an excellent on screen presence as a love interest for Buddy. And, there's really nothing to say about James Caan as he is one of the best actors of all time.
This is fairly sentimental and corny film. But, that's what most people want for a solid holiday film. The plot and script isn't all that original but it's hard to knock the story as it is done with humor and charisma. The stand out performance by JamesCaan as caring father was very endearing and spot on. Overall, it is a very good family film that will shown on television on every holiday season.

Fun Film For Everyone
I really loved this movie and have owned it on DVD and Blu-Ray. It just doesn’t dissapoint, Will Ferrell is truly committed to his role as an elf. It’s one of those movies where the whole thing is consistently funny, not one where the only funny bits showed up in the trailer. It’s a great film for the whole family, and my family watches it year round!

the movie Elf is a wonderful film for all ages. My little sister, parents, and me all enjoyed the hilarious Will Ferrel . His performance as a elf was outstanding. The movie is about a man named Buddy who realizes he is not a true elf and has a father in New York. He sets out through many perilous adventures and creates a comical scene for everyday new yorkers. The movie is trully hilarious and can be enjoyed by many different ages.

Not Your Typical Will Ferrell Movie
I love christmas movies, and this one definitely adds a modern twist to christmas movies. I like the fact that Will Ferrell plays an elf. He really brings out the kid in himself. I really always enjoy watching this movie and I always laugh every time. This is hilarious by the way! I recommend this for people who like Will Ferrell as an actor and holiday movies. Worth the money!

Elf Magic Can’t Improve the Picture Quality
I was a little disappointed in the quality of the picture. It is not nearly as sharp as other movies I have. This appears to be a movie they put out on Blu-Ray without doing much to it. You can get the same quality with a standard DVD and an upscaling player. Kind of a waste of money.

the best new Christmas movie
This is so cute. It’s the best new Christmas movie to come out since Home Alone. Most have already seen this, but if you haven’t it’s filled with stupid jokes and kid-like stunts that actually are quite cute and funny. If you are looking for a meaningful, spiritual film, this isn’t for you. If you want a fun, light Christmas movie for the whole family besides something animated, this is a good choice.

Seriously Hilarious!
This movie makes me laugh every time I watch it! I have two young children who request to watch it and I don’t mind because Will Farrell is hilarious in this movie! I am not a huge fan of Will Farrell’s other movies but this one is a keeper.
